Wake Up Time
Wake Up Time is a free downloadable application from the internet that allows you to set the alarm on Mac . This application is perfect if you are used to leaving your Mac on overnight. Its use is very simple: as soon as you start the application, a digital clock will appear, while to open the options panel simply drag the brown - wood part to the right. Among the possible options there is the time when you want to set the alarm, the choice of sound among those available and the application of some effect such as the fade.
Alarm Clock
Another alarm clock downloadable from the internet is Alarm Clock , a software available in Italian and completely free that allows you to use your Mac as a powerful programmable alarm clock with features that you could not find in a normal "real" device and that would be much more difficult to adjust. The software can use any element of your iTunes library: songs, playlists, podcasts and even Italian and foreign radios.
You can also create a random execution of the playback of the songs. The alarm also works with the computer in standby (if you want to keep it off you must remember to turn it on a few minutes or hours before with the appropriate option in the System Preferences in Energy Saving). It is not necessary for iTunes to be started, the program selects the tracks as you like but runs them by itself. There is also a “Gentle Awakening” option which gradually increases the volume (with parameters you have chosen for percentage and duration) for a less abrupt awakening.
Minutes
Another alarm clock on Mac downloadable from the internet is Minutes. This application is a kind of timer for the Mac Dashboard, full of features such as activating a countdown that warns you with an acoustic signal. It is also possible to customize the sound by choosing it from your iTunes playlists. To activate the alarm, simply turn the yellow marker until the number of minutes of the countdown and the expected end time are shown on the display. The countdown starts automatically and shows minutes and seconds. Minutes also has some very useful accessory functions. By selecting the small symbols at the bottom of the interface you can ask him to turn on or off iTunes when the count has expired or to open a file. To stop it just press on the central disc.
