The service says enough to unlimited storage, with 15 GB available to each user (not counting the previous one)

The fateful date of 1 June 2021, in addition to marking the reopening of public places indoors and, consequently, the possibility of returning to enjoy the classic morning coffee at the bar counter, was not a day like any other, not even for everyone. Google Photos users or almost.

If on the one hand the Italian Premier Mario Draghi also spoke of a restart hoping that this time, contrary to 2020, it really is, the many users of the service as announced by Big-G last November will no longer be able to benefit from unlimited and free storage space. for their photos on smartphones, replaced by a maximum of 15 GB: a “new era”.

Novelty unwelcome to most, which however does not take into account what was previously loaded to reach the "threshold" exceeded which you will have to pay (or use another similar service, of course).

In the end, Big-G's decision to monetize such a popular service after time makes sense, and for those who intend to go beyond 15 GB of "cloud" storage, it is still possible to switch to a "One" subscription, which starting from 1 , 99 euros per month offers additional space.

Those who have already stumbled upon the new limit still have a new tool to free memory launched by Big-Gm with previous uploads that will not affect the new limit.

To find out whether or not it is necessary to think of alternatives or pay, just open the Photos app and then click on the “Manage space” section. In the same, from now on, a sort of estimate will appear that will allow you to know how long the free storage will be enough, based on the frequency and weight of each user's backups.
