Google Maps is a free Internet service that offers mapping technology, including driving directions, walking directions, and public transit information. Google Earth is a similar service, which uses satellite imagery to show users 3D buildings, detailed roads, and even the ocean floor and surface data.
There are several reasons why it is recommended to import a Google map into Google Earth. For example, you can create directions in Google Maps and then want to see Google Earth instructions so you have a better idea of the route.
method One instruction
1. Open the Google map you want to view in Google Earth.
2. Click on “Link to this page” at the top right of Google Maps.
A long link will appear.
3. Add the following text, without quotes, at the end of the link: "& output = kml"
4. Select the entire link and copy it. To do this, simply highlight the entire link and press "Ctrl" + "C"
5. Paste the entire link into your browser's URL address bar. To do this, you can press “Ctrl” + “V” The map will open in Google Earth.
Method Two
6. Go to the Google Earth Plugin home page.
7. Click on "Download the Google Earth plugin."
8. Open the Google map you want to view in Google Earth.
9. Click the "Earth" button at the top right of Google Maps. The map will open in Google Earth.
